What can be seen in the following video is unusual in several respects: We heat the lock nut of the tie rod very quickly with a lot of power. Very briefly, around 150°C is reached in the entire depth of the nut. NOTHING HAPPENS. Our experience as mechanics is certain: it’s no good.

Until you then unscrew it: It works quite easily! But not only the nut, but unexpectedly also the tie rod end runs very easily on the tie rod.
